CVSS v3.1 |
In multiple functions of AppOpsService.java, there is a possible missing permission check due to a permissions bypass. This could lead to local information disclosure with no additional execution privileges needed. User interaction is not needed for exploitation.
FreeSWITCH is a Software Defined Telecom Stack enabling the digital transformation from proprietary telecom switches to a software implementation that runs on any commodity hardware. Prior to 1.11.2, switch_event_expand_headers_check() advanced beyond its heap copy when a positive offset in ${variable:offset} exceeded the variable value's length. The following length calculation and copy appended adjacent heap memory to the expansion result, potentially exposing channel variables, credentials, allocator data, and pointer bytes. The flaw is reachable through configuration templates that slice remote input and through authenticated Event Socket eval or Event Socket expand commands; the separate channel-variable expander used by ordinary dialplan slicing is unaffected. The requester cannot choose adjacent memory and disclosure stops at a zero byte, but repeated expansion can influence the layout. This issue is fixed in version 1.11.2.
In multiple locations, there is a possible out-of-bounds write due to uninitialized data. This could lead to remote escalation of privilege with no additional execution privileges needed. User interaction is not needed for exploitation.
In setPermissionGrantState of DevicePolicyManagerService.java, there is a possible persistent denial of service due to improper input validation. This could lead to local denial of service with no additional execution privileges needed. User interaction is not needed for exploitation.
A flaw was found in rust-rpm-sequoia. An attacker can exploit this vulnerability by providing a specially crafted Red Hat Package Manager (RPM) file. During the RPM signature verification process, this crafted file can trigger an error in the OpenPGP signature parsing code, leading to an unconditional termination of the rpm process. This issue results in an application level denial of service, making the system unable to process RPM files for signature verification.
A flaw was found in evolution-data-server. Inconsistent comparison logic in the addressbook file backend allows a Flatpak application with D-Bus access to craft a malicious URI containing directory traversal sequences. This URI is stored without proper validation during contact creation or modification. Later, during contact deletion, the URI is processed with a less strict check, leading to the deletion of arbitrary files on the host filesystem. This could potentially include critical Flatpak override files.
A flaw was found in libsoup's SoupServer. A remote attacker could exploit a use-after-free vulnerability where the `soup_server_disconnect()` function frees connection objects prematurely, even if a TLS handshake is still pending. If the handshake completes after the connection object has been freed, a dangling pointer is accessed, leading to a server crash and a Denial of Service.
A flaw was found in libsoup. An integer underflow vulnerability occurs when processing content with a zero-length resource, leading to a buffer overread. This can allow an attacker to potentially access sensitive information or cause an application level denial of service.
A flaw was found in Samba’s vfs_worm module. The module is intended to provide write-once, read-many (WORM) protections by preventing modification of files after a configurable grace period. Due to insufficient validation during rename operations, an authenticated user with write access to a share could overwrite a protected file by renaming a newly created file over the existing WORM-protected file.
FreeSWITCH is a Software Defined Telecom Stack enabling the digital transformation from proprietary telecom switches to a software implementation that runs on any commodity hardware. Prior to 1.11.2, process_rtcp_report() used an RTPFB NACK packet's declared RTCP header length as its feedback-entry loop bound instead of the datagram length already validated by the caller. A short packet with an oversized declaration could drive reads far beyond the fixed 16 KiB receive buffer. Any peer able to send RTCP to an active video call can reach the flaw, including calls where remote SDP enables video RTCP even though the SIP profile has no explicit RTCP interval configured. The out-of-bounds read can crash FreeSWITCH and terminate every active call, but supplies no write primitive and does not echo the read values to the sender. This issue is fixed in version 1.11.2.
The function dns_copy_qname in dns_pack.c performs performs a memcpy operation with an untrusted field and does not check if the source buffer is large enough to contain the copied data.
FreeSWITCH is a Software Defined Telecom Stack enabling the digital transformation from proprietary telecom switches to a software implementation that runs on any commodity hardware. Prior to 1.11.3, sofia_presence_handle_sip_i_message() split the To user of an inbound SIP MESSAGE on a plus sign and treated the left side as a chat protocol selector. Selecting the api chat proto reached switch_api_execute(), allowing a peer whose MESSAGE was accepted to run FreeSWITCH API commands, including operating-system command sinks, with the daemon's privileges. Inbound chat is enabled on the stock internal and external profiles, and any authenticated profile account is sufficient; stock directory users without password material can also remove that barrier in affected configurations. The flaw permits configuration and credential disclosure, arbitrary call control, and command execution, and exploitation has been observed in the wild. This issue is fixed in version 1.11.3.
Sandbox escape due to invalid pointer in the Graphics: WebRender component. This vulnerability was fixed in Firefox 159, Firefox ESR 153.6, Thunderbird 159, and Thunderbird 153.6.
Incorrect boundary conditions in the Layout: Scrolling and Overflow component. This vulnerability was fixed in Firefox 159, Firefox ESR 153.6, Thunderbird 159, and Thunderbird 153.6.
Sandbox escape due to incorrect boundary conditions in the Graphics: WebRender component. This vulnerability was fixed in Firefox 159, Firefox ESR 153.6, Thunderbird 159, and Thunderbird 153.6.
Incorrect boundary conditions in the Layout: Text and Fonts component. This vulnerability was fixed in Firefox 159, Firefox ESR 153.6, Thunderbird 159, and Thunderbird 153.6.
FreeSWITCH is a Software Defined Telecom Stack enabling the digital transformation from proprietary telecom switches to a software implementation that runs on any commodity hardware. Prior to 1.11.2, dtls_state_setup() compared a peer certificate with the SDP a=fingerprint only when FreeSWITCH was the DTLS client, not when it held the DTLS server role. An unauthenticated peer able to reach the negotiated media port could complete the DTLS-SRTP handshake with an unrelated certificate, obtain the leg's SRTP keys, decrypt and inject media, and displace the legitimate endpoint; on ICE-enabled legs the peer also needs the connectivity-check credentials from SDP, which generally requires signaling visibility or a position on its path. WebRTC and SIP DTLS-SRTP legs are affected whenever the peer selects the active role, while FreeSWITCH client-role handshakes already perform fingerprint validation. Version 1.11.2 introduces the remediation, which requires rtp_dtls_client_cert_verify_mode=fingerprint.
FreeSWITCH is a Software Defined Telecom Stack enabling the digital transformation from proprietary telecom switches to a software implementation that runs on any commodity hardware. Prior to 1.11.2, ws_read_frame() unmasked a WebSocket payload by iterating wsh->datalen, which included frame headers, while indexing from the payload pointer. A masked frame filling the 64 KiB receive buffer could therefore XOR up to 14 bytes beyond the buffer, and the exact-capacity case also wrote a terminating NUL one byte out of bounds. The flaw is reachable before authentication when mod_xml_rpc and its opt-in WebSocket endpoint are enabled, while both features are disabled in the stock configuration. The writes remain within the same connection handle's adjacent outbound buffer, so neither a process crash nor cross-session disclosure has been demonstrated. This issue is fixed in version 1.11.2.
A flaw was found in Undertow, an HTTP server, within its HTTP response header writing path. The `writeString()` method performs a silent narrowing cast from 16-bit Unicode characters to 8-bit bytes when writing HTTP response header values. A remote attacker can exploit this by supplying specific Unicode characters in user-controlled input that an application places into response headers. This can lead to the truncation of these characters into ASCII control characters or special symbols, potentially resulting in limited integrity impact or information disclosure if the application does not properly sanitize user input.
| The 'podman quadlet install --replace' command opens the existing destination file with O_CREATE|O_WRONLY but omits O_TRUNC. When the initial reflink copy attempt fails (common on non-reflink-capable filesystems including many RHEL default XFS configurations), the fallback in ReflinkOrCopy uses io.Copy which performs a non-truncating write. If the original Quadlet is larger than the new Quadlet, the file is not truncated and content from the original is preserved. The command completes with no warning.
There is no risk of information leakage as the user already had access to the Quadlet in order to replace it, and in most cases, this would only lead to invalid Quadlet files. However, security-related options from the end of the old Quadlet could be included in the new Quadlet, and if the truncation resulted in a valid Quadlet file, this could result in undesirable behavior. For example, running podman quadlet install --replace to remove a single line from the end of a Quadlet - including security-sensitive content, like AddCapability - will fail, and the option will continue to be used. Further, with Volume Quadlets, this can include additional mounts which can cause content to be unintentionally exposed into containers. If, later, the image is updated then compromised content might be leaked to an attacker.
The vulnerable code paths are in pkg/domain/infra/abi/quadlet.go (lines 338-360, O_CREATE|O_WRONLY without O_TRUNC) and vendor/go.podman.io/storage/pkg/fileutils/reflink_linux.go (lines 12-19, non-truncating io.Copy fallback). |
